Sustainability at Sooothe
Our ambition as a company is to operate as a force for good - driving social change and making sustainable products that contribute to a happier, healthier, and sustainable society.
To achieve this, we’ve been asking ourselves some questions…
How can we improve our environmental impact?
How can we reduce our carbon footprint?
How can we live well and save the planet at the same time?
It’s an ongoing process, one in which we are constantly learning and evolving. It’s such an exciting time to be a designer. We can make a great difference through thoughtful design, and because we are at the start of our product development journey we can design for people and the planet right from the start.
Fabrics
Our fabrics have to look good and feel great, but also be produced in a fair and sustainable way…
We search for innovative or recycled fabrics with strong eco-credentials.
We are currently using recycled polyester for our stuffing but are looking for alternative solutions.
We try to use natural fibres and materials wherever possible.
We take great care to find like-minded suppliers to work with, and ensure our fabric is sourced in the UK wherever possible.
Trying out colours and textures. Sourcing recycled and organic fabrics.
Design and Creation
Our products are handmade to be loved and to last…
We make-to-order, and use our fabrics wisely to reduce waste
We design our products to last a lifetime and be mended
Megan has been helping us source sustainable fabrics and find like minded suppliers. Thank you !
Customer Journey
We empower our customers to love and look after their products…
We include clear care instructions so customers understand how to look after them so that they last longer.
We are exploring ways for our customers to personalise their products with names and messages - watch this space!
Our aim is to create beautifully crafted sustainable products for you to enjoy and hand-on to family and friends.
Why is this important?
The global textile industry is one of the biggest polluters and one of the greatest producers of waste. An estimated £104 million worth of clothing is sent to UK landfill each year. As we continue to face the climate crisis, sustainability is no longer an optional bonus. It is essential.

For People and The Planet
This is an ongoing journey - we’re putting in place a culture of care for people and planet across the company.
Not only do we try to practise sustainability in our business, but in our personal lives too… Last year, Annie gave up her car and now goes everywhere by train or electric bike.
We source sustainable denim and embroidery threads with eco-credentials for our growing collection of sensory huggables.
